Meeting of Coalition Ambassadors in Geneva

On Monday, 4 November 2024, Geneva-based Ambassadors representing members of the Coalition of Trade Ministers on Climate met for the first time to take stock of the Coalition’s activities and discuss the next steps for collective action.

 

The discussion focused on opportunities for enhanced ministerial-level engagement to drive the Coalition's priorities and progress on the Menu of Voluntary Actions. In addition, co-leads provided updates on the Coalition's upcoming event at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event "Trade Meets Climate: Priorities for Collective Action and Cooperation to Achieve Climate Goals" will take place in the Trade and Investment House on 15 November.


The Coalition of Trade Ministers for Climate is an initiative co-led by Ecuador, the European Union, Kenya, and New Zealand. It includes 63 Ministers of countries from different regions, varying levels of development, climate vulnerabilities, and trade circumstances.
